Who we are

Dog Brain Lab publishes articles about canine mental stimulation at dogbrainlab.com. The site is operated by Clark Media (Australia). If you want to talk to a human about anything on this page, the address is hello@dogbrainlab.com.

What we do not collect

There are no accounts on this site, no login, no comment box, no newsletter signup and no forms at launch. There is nowhere to type your name, so we do not have it. We do not sell data, because we do not gather the kind anyone would buy.

If any of that changes, for example if we add an email list later, this page changes first and the effective date at the top moves.

Server logs

The site is served through Cloudflare, and like every web host on earth it keeps standard request logs. A log entry typically includes your IP address, the page you asked for, the time you asked for it, your browser and operating system, and the page that referred you.

Those logs exist so the site stays up, loads quickly, and can be defended against attacks and scraping. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not try to match a log entry to a person. Cloudflare processes this data as our infrastructure provider under its own terms.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics to count how many people read a page, which pages they came in on, and roughly which country they were in. We may also use Google Analytics for the same job. In either case the purpose is the same: knowing which articles are worth writing more of.

Depending on which of those is running, analytics may set a cookie or store a small identifier in your browser to tell a repeat visit from a new one. What we look at is counts and trends, not individuals. If you would rather not be counted:

• Most browsers can block or clear cookies for a specific site in their settings.
• Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics everywhere at once, attools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
• Browser tracking protection and content blockers work on this site as they do on any other.

Affiliate links and third-party cookies

Some links on this site are affiliate links. The main one points at Brain Training for Dogs, which is sold through ClickBank. When you click one, ClickBank sets a tracking cookie in your browser so that if you buy something, the sale is credited to us.

That cookie is theirs, not ours. It is set on their systems, under their privacy policy, and we never see who clicked or who bought. What reaches us is a commission report with sales totals on it, and no names. If you want to avoid the cookie entirely, do not click the affiliate link, or clear cookies afterwards.

Other links off this site

We cite our sources, which means we send you to veterinary bodies, research papers, kennel clubs and vendor pages. Once you leave dogbrainlab.com you are on someone else's site under someone else's privacy policy, and we have no control over what they collect. Linking to a page is not an endorsement of how that site handles data.

If you email us

Then we have your email address and whatever you wrote in the message, because that is how email works. We use it to reply to you and to fix whatever you told us about. We do not add it to a mailing list, and we do not pass it to anyone else. Ask us to delete the thread and we will.

Children

This site is written for adults who look after dogs. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information an operator holds about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and to object to certain kinds of processing. Laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act and the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation set out versions of those rights.

Our answer will usually be short, because there is usually nothing to hand over: unless you have emailed us, we hold no information that identifies you. Either way, send the request tohello@dogbrainlab.com and we will deal with it. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Do Not Track

Browsers can send a Do Not Track signal, and there is still no agreed standard for what a site should do with it. We do not run advertising trackers or build cross-site profiles, so there is nothing here for the signal to switch off. We would rather say that than claim to honor a standard that does not exist.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes in a way that matters, we update the effective date at the top of the page. Adding analytics, adding an email list or adding a new affiliate partner all count as changes that matter.
